About Arica
Arica is a small Colombian town that is located at the edge of the Amazon Rainforest. Settled at the the southeastern edge of the country, to the town's immediate east is a protected national park. To the south of the city is an extension of the Amazon River, which sets the border line between Colombia and Peru. Arica, which has very rich flora and fauna, is almost entirely forested. There is a small airport of the same name in the city, which is difficult to access by road. Arica is a city under the influence of the Amazon climate. Temperature and humidity are very high throughout the year. Arica gets plenty of rain each month, but at certain times these rains come in the form of violent tropical storms.
