Greece's capital, Athens, is one of the cities that has effected today's world with its history and culture. With this attribute, it hosts millions of tourists from around the world. Athens' only airport, Elefterios Venizelos International Airport, however, is an important airport to which 15 million of people who visit the city arrive through.
For transportation here, you can get on the bus number 732 from the Sintagma and Omonoia squares in the city center of Athens, getting off on the third stop, Evangelimos Hospital stop and changing on to bus number X95, arriving at the airport after about an hour-long trip. X96, however, provides transportation to the Pire Port and from Pire, to the airport.
Passing through Monastiraki and Sintagma, located in the city center, the M3 line takes you directly to the Airport. However, from the Omonoia Square you can get on the M1 line to get to Monastiraki switching to line M2 which will get you to Sintagma from where you can get on a bus to the airport.
The M3 line also can get you to important places like the Benaki museum, Athens Academy and Athens Concert hall.
Athens, unlike western European cities, does not have orderly streets and boulevards. Because of this, your chance of getting lost is very high.Attiki Road will get you to the A64 which takes you to the Airport. You can get to the Airport via private vehicle in 30 to 40 minutes and park it in the 1360 capacity parking lot.
Hosting more than 15 million visitors annually, the airport offers its passengers and their close ones places to spend their time fruitfully. With health and maintenance facilities located within the airport, there is also a small archaeological and Acropolis exhibition.
There are also galleries where temporary exhibitions take place in the Airport. It is rich in terms of eating, drinking and shopping. There is a large Duty Free in the airport where you can find everything related to the Mediterranean culture and cuisine.
You can get to the city center by bus or taxi from Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport. If you want to rent a car in order to get to the city center, you can follow two different ways both of which are very easy. The free airport shuttle service provided by some hotels is one of the easiest, comfortable and fast means of transportation.
There is also a taxi-stand in front of both terminals. The taxi fare in order to go to Anchorage city center costs between 17-22 dollars. The ride takes about 15 to 20 minutes under normal traffic conditions.
At Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport, there is a Car Rental Center, which hosts 8 car rental companies. To get to the Car Rental Center, you can benefit from free shuttle services that depart every 15 minutes from the South Terminal. If you are in the North Terminal, you can ask for a shuttle service immediately using the toll-free telephone. You can go to the city center by driving through two different routes. You need to connect to L Street or O’Malley routes through Minnesota W Int. Airport road. Both routes lead you to the city center in no more than 16 minutes under normal conditions.
If you prefer public transport, you can reach the city center in half an hour from the airport by getting on the bus number 7. The ticket price is 2$. The bus departs every 30 minutes from 6 am to 11 pm every day.
Some of the hotels and motels in Anchorage offer free airport shuttle service for their guests. In order to benefit from this shuttle service provided through luxury minivans, you should make your reservations by contacting with your hotel or motel in advance.
