Transportation to Airport from Bakü City Center

Heydar Aliyev Intl. Airport

Located along the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan’s capital Baku is a rising star in the East gaining notoriety for its oil, gas, and caviar. Baku is a city that attracts the attention people migrating from Asia and other countries in the region, and businessmen from all around the world. The city’s only airport is the Heydar Aliyev International Airport, named after the National Leader and third President of Azerbaijan. The airport serves 5 million passengers annually.

You can get to the airport, which is located 25 km away, from the city center by car or a combination of the metro and airport buses.

Airport Buses

The easiest and cheapest way to get to the airport from the city center is by airport bus. Bus line 116 departs from Vurgun Park, located in central Baku, and takes about 50 minutes to get to the airport.

Metro

The metro system in Baku provides transportation to many central locations in the city like the Old City, 28 May Street, and the Caspian Sea. However, to get to the airport from the city center you have to first take the metro and then get on a bus. From central locations in the city like the Old City, Cafer Cabbari, and Khatai you can take the metro to the 28 May and Koroglu stations. From here you can get on bus line 116, which runs to the airport or take a taxi to the airport.   

Personal Car

Since the city is rich in oil, fuel is cheap, making traveling by car a very attractive option. Getting to the city center from the airport is very easy. One of the city’s most important avenues, Heydar Aliyev Avenue will connect you to the Boyuk Shor Highway, which goes to the airport. From the highway take the Airport exit. The airport contains indoor and outdoor parking lots where you can park your personal car for a certain fee.

Airport Information

Although it is not very large Heydar Aliyev International Airport is an important junction, especially for passengers traveling between Europe and Asia. The airport offers passengers a variety of eating, drinking, and shopping venues.

The airport has 2 terminals, Terminal 1, which was completely renovated, and Terminal 2, which serves domestic flights. The airport contains world famous fast food chains like Burger King, McDonald’s, and KFC, as well as restaurants that offer delicious flavors unique to Azerbaijani cuisine.

The international terminal has a large Duty Free shop as well as souvenir shops where you can buy items unique to Russian and Azeri culture. The airport features free wireless internet connection. 

Transportation to Gdansk City Center from Airport

Transportation from Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport to Gdansk city center takes no more than 45 minutes, regardless of which means of transport you use. As you can use popular means of public transport such as trains, buses and trams for your journey, taxi and car rental companies will also be at your service 24/7.

Train

There is a small train station at the exit of Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport. Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport-Gdansk city center train departs from this station every 15 minutes and goes directly to the city center. To get to the train, you have to purchase your ticket from the ticket vending machines in the terminal building. You can also get to the city center by taking the train called SKM. All trains are moving to Gdansk city center from Gdansk Port Lotniczy station.

Bus

The bus lines 210, 120 and 4A, which depart frequently from the airport, directly go to Gdansk city center and Glowny central station. There are two routes of the bus number 210. To go to the city you have to take the bus 210 to Goscinna. You can use these buses by a ticket that costs 60 Zloty according to the most current rates. Bus 122 also provides access to the Sopot Kamienny Potok region of Gdansk from the airport. The bus line to the Wrzeszcz train station, which departs from the airport again, is number 110.

If you have landed at Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport at night, you can take the N3 night bus to Gdansk Glowny station. Gdansk Shuttle vehicles, which provide a reliable transportation service to tourists by means of shuttle buses, take passengers from the airport to the city center at a fee of 21 Euros. Tram

It is quite easy to reach Gdansk city center by taxi cabs waiting outside the airport terminal buildings. The official taxi drivers in Gdansk charge 7 Polish Zlotys at the beginning and then 2.5 Zlotys per kilometer. From Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport to the city center you will have to pay about 80 Zlotys if you use a taxi.

Car Rental

Famous car rental companies such as Budget / Avis, Express, Panek, Enterprise, Dollar, Europcar, Hertz, Thrifty, Joka and Sixt are located in Terminal T1 of Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport. The name of the domestic car rental company at the airport is Easy Terra Car Rental. You can rent a car from Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport and get to the city center in about 20-25 minutes.

If you use the S6 (E28) express way connecting Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport and Gdansk city center, the duration of your journey can be reduced up to 5-10 minutes. Before arriving Gdansk, you can rent a car or contact the company or make a pre-booking via internet at much more reasonable prices.
