Transportation from Brighton City Center to London Gatwick Airport

Rent a car

After renting an affordable car in Brighton, you can very easily reach Gatwick Airport by driving northward through the A23 road. The average journey takes about 35 minutes under normal traffic conditions.

Train

You can reach Gatwick Airport directly taking the Gatwick Express line from Brighton city center. Transportation by train takes about 30 minutes. Train services begin at 6:30 am and continue until 10:55 pm. The Airport Express train gets to the city center in about 24 minutes. Passengers who take the Airport Express can transfer to hotel shuttles, which many prominent hotels provide, at the Kowloon Station and Hong Kong Station.

Ferry

There is a ferry service that provides transportation to various districts around the city from the airport. The ferry is accessible before immigration in the arrivals hall. Passengers using the ferry are considered transit passengers. You can purchase ferry tickets in Terminal 1.  

Bus

The Cityflyer buses are a service of Citybus and one of the most convenient transportation alternatives to get to the city. The Cityflyer buses depart from the airport and get to the city center in about 40 minutes. Moreover, crossing the Tsing Ma Bridge, the world’s 7th largest bridge, you can enjoy the ride watching the beautiful views of Lantau Island.

Taxi

Taxis are another method of transportation that you can use to get to the city center from the airport. However, there is one important thing to take note of. If you are going to the Hong Kong city center or Kowloon then you have to get on a red taxi. Taxis in other colors go to different locations. Also don’t forget to take the traffic into account.
