Nouakchott Oumtounsy Intl. Airport
Nouakchott International Airport is very close to the city center; only 4 kilometers and 10 minutes away. There is no public transport from the city center to the airport. But by taxi or renting a car, you can reach the city center very easily and quickly.

You can easily find a taxi in the city center. If you ask your hotel, they can arrange one for you. Since there is no taximeter in the cars, you have to bargain and negotiate the fare in advance. It takes only 10 minutes to get to the airport by taxi.
Car Rental
Renting cars is a common method of transportation for foreigners in Nouakchott. There are offices in the city center where you can rent a car. With the car you rent, you can reach the airport in just 10 minutes from the city center.
